Running Past Your Past
Your past does not define you. Are you running from a memory you can no longer hide? Are you trying to run past your past but it hasn’t passed? Here’s some good news. Your past does not define you, and your past does not predict your future. Your past is past. You can never look forward if you’re looking backward. You did not have control over how you were born or who your parents were, but you DO have power over how you REACT to your past. John 3:17-18 in the NIV translation says, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned…”
What happened when Jesus died on the cross
When Jesus died on the cross, He paid for all of our sins, past, present, and future. Yes, even FUTURE sins! If you have not already accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you’d like for your past to be past, just pray this prayer out loud or to yourself: “Jesus, come into my heart. I proclaim you my Lord and Savior. Forgive me of my sins.”
