Why Give?

God promises more about generosity in the Bible than anything else, including prayer, love, or patience. He gave first, so we give back to sustain His work. As John 3:16 (NASB) says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”

When you give, God promises:

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” (Malachi 3:10, NIV)

Give joyfully, not out of pressure. As 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV) reminds us, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

God is generous, and He calls us to be like Him. Everything we have is because of His generosity and grace. “From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.” (John 1:16, NLT)

We help people understand the saving grace of Jesus Christ and why it matters for eternity. There are many who feel like they could never get into Heaven because of what they’ve done to someone or to themselves. The free gift of eternal life in Heaven, known as salvation, is available to anyone, regardless of one’s past, by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, repenting of their sins, and proclaiming Him as their Lord and Savior. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB) says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.” It is important to know that only God can save someone. No pastor and no “repeat after me” phrases can save anyone. Even you can’t save you.
