John Haggard

Store Up Treasures.

This scripture was foundational in the formation of Treasure Top Ministries and teaches us that good works on earth will not get us into heaven but that our rewards in heaven will be based upon our good works on earth for those who are saved: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV).

Treasure Top Ministries teaches the Word of God and why it matters: “…so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 NIV). This means that those who proclaim God’s word for others to hear will accomplish one of God’s main purposes for your life and for the life of others.

Belief Is Not Enough.

I was fortunate to have attended church starting as a small child, but what I did not learn in church was that merely believing in the Father (God), the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit (the guiding spirit that is placed in us when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior) would not get me into Heaven.

God Chooses Us. We Don’t Choose Him.

God chose every person who would believe in Him before He created the world. One of the evidences of truly being saved is to repent of our sins, which means to turn away from continuing to sin. Repentance is the evidence of being saved. While Christians will continue to sin because we are not perfect, the true evidence of one who is saved is the desire to sin less. It is God who saves us; we cannot save ourselves. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight…” (Ephesians 1:4 NIV).

I Was Not the Only One.

I knew at that moment that I was not the only one who had gone to church for many years, but never understood that “belief” alone would not get someone into Heaven. That realization led to my mission of sharing Christ and the good news to help people free themselves from their past.

For those who were preordained to be saved before the formation of the world, Jesus says in John 10:28-29 (NIV), “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.”

This means no Christian can EVER lose their salvation, no matter what.

Give Hope to the Hopeless.

In my earlier career, I was a staff member at Bellevue Community Church (BCC) in Bellevue, TN, and it was there that the motto “Real Hope for Real People in the Real World” (selected from Pastor David Foster’s mission statement at BCC) also became my mission to preach God’s word to as many people about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. And prior to BCC, I spent over 30 years in Radio and Television and brought many of the things I learned in broadcast media to Treasure Top to help fulfill The Great Commission as stated in Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV): “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We’ll Do Anything We Can Short of Sin…

to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to everyone so that they may experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
