Storing Up Treasures

Scripture teaches that good works on earth will not get anyone into heaven, but rewards in heaven will be based upon our good works on earth for those who are saved: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV).

Treasure Top Ministries teaches the Word of God and why it matters: “…so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 NIV). This means that those who proclaim God’s word for others to hear will accomplish one of God’s main purposes for your life and for the life of others.

God Chooses Us. We Don’t Choose Him.

God chose every person who would believe in Him before He created the world. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight…” (Ephesians 1:4 NIV).

It is God who saves us; we cannot save ourselves. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”

One of the evidences of truly being saved is repenting of sin. Repenting means turning away from continuing to sin in repeated patterns. Repenting is an evidence of being saved. While Christians will continue to sin because they are not perfect, evidence of one who is saved is the desire and commitment to sin less.

Cannot Lose Salvation

For those who were preordained to be saved before the formation of the world, Jesus says in John 10:28-29 (NIV), “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” This means no Christian can EVER lose their salvation, no matter what.

Hope for the Hopeless

Prior to founding Treasure Top, I was Director of First Impressions at Bellevue Community Church (BCC) in Bellevue, TN. BCC’s motto, “Real Hope for Real People in the Real World,” was instituted by Pastor David Foster’s as part of the church’s mission statement and also became a part of my mission to preach God’s word to as many people about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Prior to BCC, I worked over 30 years in Radio and Television and brought what I learned in broadcast media to Treasure Top to help fulfill The Great Commission as stated in Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV): “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
