Can a Christian Lose Their Salvation?
What if a Christian has done something REALLY bad? Genuine believers may stumble and fall, but they will persevere in the faith.
- “I thank my God always concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge, even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you, so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:4-8 NASB).
- Christians are not sinless. They just sin … less.
- True Christians REPENT of their sins, which means to turn away from.
Those Who Turn Away from God
Those who later turn completely away from God show that they never were truly born again.
- “They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us” (1 John 2:19).
Who Is in Control of Salvation?
- Scripture teaches that salvation is all God’s work. Those who believe are saved NOT by any effort of their own.
- “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit…” (Titus 3:5).
- Even faith is a gift of God, not something you can do on your own
- “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)…” (Ephesians 2:4-5).
- For a true believer, Jesus said, “and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.”
- ““My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:28 NASB).

If you are not a Christian but you are feeling a prompting in your heart, it may be God who is inviting you to accept his Son as your Lord and Savior. Accept Jesus into your heart NOW, proclaim Him your Lord and Savior, and ask forgiveness of your sins.
There are no second chances to accept Christ IF YOU DIE before you accept Him. Do it now if He is prompting you.
