Storing Up Treasures

Jesus Christ taught that good works on earth will not get anyone into heaven, but rewards in heaven will be based upon our good works on earth for those who are saved: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21 NASB).

Treasure Top Ministries teaches the word of God and why it matters: “So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 NASB). This means that those who proclaim the word of God for others to hear will accomplish one of God’s main purposes for your life and for the life of others. The Word of God will produce its intended results in fulfilling all of God’s spiritual purposes.

God Chooses Us. We Don’t Choose Him.

God chose every person who would believe in Him before He created the world. “…just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him…” (Ephesians 1:4 NASB).

It is God who saves us; we cannot save ourselves: “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB).

One of the evidences of truly being saved is repenting of sin. Repenting means turning away from continuing to sin in repeated patterns. Repenting is an evidence of being saved. While Christians will continue to sin because they are not perfect, evidence of one who is saved is the desire and commitment to sin less.

You Cannot Lose Your Salvation

For those who were preordained to be saved before the formation of the world, Jesus says in John 10:27-29 (NASB), “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” This means that no Christian can ever lose their salvation, no matter what.

Anyone who says they are walking away from being a Christian never was a Christian: “They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us” (1 John 2:19 NASB).

The ultimate test of true Christianity is endurance. Jesus said, “You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved” (Mark 13:13 NASB).

Hope for the Hopeless

Prior to founding Treasure Top, John was Director of First Impressions at Bellevue Community Church (BCC) in Bellevue, TN. “Real Hope for Real People in the Real World” was preached by Senior Pastor David Foster as part of the church’s mission statement and also became a part of John’s calling to preach the word of God to people about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Prior to BCC, John worked over 30 years in Radio and Television and brought what he learned in broadcast media to Treasure Top to help fulfill The Great Commission as spoken by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20 (NASB): “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
