Proof God Exists
Want proof that God actually exists? There is one place in the Bible where God says to test Him to see if He is really real. He dares you to take the challenge. “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it” (Malachi 3:10-11 NIV).
God’s Challenge

Caution About Giving
And a note of caution on giving: beware of prosperity gospel teachers who teach that the more you give, the more blessings you will receive. They have been known to say things such as “I’m going to give you a chance to raise your income” meaning that “now is the time to make a big gift if you want to see more money and blessing in your life. Nowhere in the Bible does the word of God promise that the blessings you receive in life will be in direct proportion to the amount of money you give.
God as Your Defender
Did you also know that God will be your defender if you tithe with a true heart? “Bring the best of the first fruit of your harvest to the House of the Lord. . . . If you do what I say, I’ll be an enemy to your enemies and I’ll oppose those who oppose you!” (Exodus 23:19, 22 NIV).
Definition of Tithe
Ten percent of a person’s possessions, material or otherwise, should be offered to God. While tithing customs have evolved since the time of the Old Testament, the idea of donating a tenth of one’s earnings or possessions for religious purposes has not. God does not need your money. Giving is a test of the human heart, and the most sensitive nerve in the body is the one that runs from the heart to the wallet.
