Is Hell Real?
People may disagree about politics, religion, and many other subjects, but one fact is undeniable: everyone eventually experiences physical death.
The more important question is this:
What happens after you die?
Is death the end, or does life continue after the body dies? Can you know where you will spend eternity?
These are not merely theological questions. If Hell is real, understanding what the Bible says about death, judgment, and salvation has eternal significance.
What Does the Bible Say About Hell?
The Bible teaches that Hell is real and that every person needs salvation. It also teaches that salvation cannot be earned through good behavior, religious rituals, or personal effort.
Salvation is God’s free gift, received through faith in Jesus Christ:
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
—Ephesians 2:8–9
This is the real “fire insurance”: God offers forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ to everyone who believes in Him.
How Can You Avoid Hell?
According to the Bible, the answer is not simply to become a better person. The answer is to recognize your need for forgiveness, place your faith in Jesus Christ, and receive Him as your Lord and Savior.
If you feel God prompting your heart, do not ignore Him; it may be the Holy Spirit convicting you of your sin and your need for a Savior.
None of us knows how much time we have remaining. And there is no second chance to accept Christ once a person dies.
