Difference Between Saint and Sinner
Oscar Wilde once wrote, “The only difference between the saint and the sinner…is that every saint has a past…and every sinner has a future.” Christians are called “saints”…in the Bible.1 Corinthians 1:2 says, “to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be SAINTS, together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ …” The word sanctified comes from the same Greek root, as the word that is commonly translated…saints. Christians are saints by virtue of their connection with Jesus Christ and who increasingly make their daily lives more closely matched with their position in Christ. That’s why “every saint has a past…and every sinner has a future” is true!
The Unforgivable Sin
Rejecting Jesus Christ as the one and only Savior leaves an unbeliever without any hope for salvation. Therefore, rejecting the one and only pardon is the unpardonable sin. John 3:36: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”
Jesus said, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” (John 6:44 NIV). This means it is God who chooses us; we do not choose Him.
You can have a future in Heaven, buy only God can save you. If you feel a prompting in your heart, it may be God who is urging you to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You can invite Jesus into your heart by saying, “Jesus, please come into my heart. I proclaim you my Lord and Savior. Forgive me of my sins.”
